Co-Rider Course
February 17th 2001

The morning of February 17th 2001 came early for those members of Chapters W, C and G who gathered at the motorcycle education classroom on the campus of Spring Branch Educational Center to take the GWRRA Chapter W Co-Rider Course. This course is the ERC (Experienced Rider Course) but with the emphasis on the Co-Rider and their part in having a fun and safe ride. GWRRA Senior Educator Jim Stanford and GWRRA Asst. District Educators Jerry Sun and Tanya Sun were ready to put everyone through what would prove to be a long and very educational day. Jerry Sun was our classroom instructor. Using films, slides and a lot of interactive Q&A, Jerry did an excellent job of presenting the information on the three basic segments of the course; cornering, stopping and swerving.

Lunch at Taco Cabana

After lunch and a little warm-up practice we're ready for the range part of the course.

Before each exercise Jim Stanford gathers us around to describe the exercise and how this drill relates to real world driving conditions.

After Jim describes the exercise Jerry and Tonya Sun ride the course to show us how it should be done.

After we've seen it done it's our turn.
